Amar Khan urges celebrities to give 'Shut Up' call to toxic talk shows

Amar Khan has appeared as a guest on Frieha Altaf’s podcast, where she spoke out against Pakistani talk shows that try to pit actresses against each other.

In a candid conversation with the host, Amar discussed the commonly asked question during interviews about the most overrated actor or actress and mentioned how clips are edited out of context to stir up controversy and discord, which she referred to as venomous.

The actress emphasized that everyone should collectively give a firm shut-up call to such questions and those who ask them.

The ‘Daraar’ star also opened up about her strained relationship with her father and his disapproval of her choice to pursue a career in showbiz. Despite her mother's attempts to reconcile them, Amar couldn't find it in her heart to feel affection for him after their disagreement about her career path.

Here are the exact words of the lady:

“My father is not supporting me currently. I have met him in the past when I used to go on some of my vacations. He wasn’t happy with me when he came to know that I was entering this media industry; he wasn’t okay with it.”

Further discussing their bond, she stated:

“We had a very formal relationship. He wrote an email to me while I was entering the media industry. In the email, he wrote, ‘You are entering your mother’s profession, and I don’t want you to inadvertently bring shame to the family. I am not okay with it.’

However, I wrote to him, ‘I will not bring shame to my mother or your family.’ After that, we never spoke to each other. Although my mother tried a lot to mend my relationship with my father, somehow I couldn’t develop love and warmth for him, and after that, we never talked.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Amar Khan is the daughter of seasoned PTV actor Fareeha Jabeen, whose recent claims to fame were Suno Chanda, Dil Tanha Tanha, and Khuda Aur Mohabbat.
