2kg ice heroin recovered from passenger’s harmonium at Islamabad Airport

Airports Security Force (ASF) conducted an operation at Islamabad International Airport and recovered about 2kg of ice heroin from a passenger reading to board a Riyadh-bound flight, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to ASF spokesperson, the passenger was identified as Kashif-ur-Rehman and he had hidden the drug in a harmonium.

The ASF declared the harmonium in the luggage as suspicious and during the search, 1.960 kg of ice heroin was recovered from the harmonium.

After initial interrogation, the accused was handed over to Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) authorities.

Meanwhile, ANF arrested 10 drug dealers who were used to smuggling drugs in educational institutions and other cities of the country and recovered 61.488 kg of drugs worth Rs40.5 million from the possession of accused. According to ANF spokesperson, during operations in educational institutions, 500 grams of hashish was recovered from the accused near the bus stand on GT Road Rawalpindi.

The arrested accused confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.

In other operations, 2.382 kg of ice was recovered hidden in the trolley bag of a passenger going to Saudi Arabia at Islamabad International Airport.

Not less than 312 grams of hashish was recovered from the shoes of a passenger going to Dubai at Islamabad International Airport.

About 100 capsules filled with heroin were also recovered from the stomach of a passenger, including a woman, going to Jeddah at Lahore Airport.

Moreover, 94 grams of heroin was recovered from a parcel sent to the Maldives through a courier office in Karachi.

A total of 36 kg of hashish was recovered from a car and a motorcycle near the railway gate in Gujrat and arrested three suspects.

Likewise, 15.6 kg of hashish was recovered hidden in an abandoned motorcycle near the bus stop on GT Road Peshawar.

Further, 6 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of two women near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza Attock.

Cases have been registered against the arrested accused under the Narcotics Control Act and investigation has been initiated.
