LESCO to purchase energy-saver 80 million inverter fans
In a major development to save electricity, Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) on Wednesday decided to convert 80 million conventional fans on inverter technology, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.
According to details, LESCO has already forwarded draft of accord to its Board of Directors (BoD) for final approval. The approval is mandatory for distribution of inverter fans among the consumers.
After approval, LESCO chief will ink agreement with NECA. After agreement inverter fans will be distributed among the consumers.
The consumers will decide themselves to purchase inverter fan or not. As per documents, federal government sought record of electricity bills from LESCO for the last three years.
Inverter fans will be provided to consumers after scrutiny of record.
It is necessary to mention here that after conversion of 80 million fans on inverter technology, around 5,000 megawatt electricity will be save annually.
Old fans consume a lot of energy due to inefficient motor designs, and outdated materials, and the government now aimed to offer Inverter fans in easy installments.
