351 students among 1,235 Pakistanis back home from Iran during last 11 days

The return of Pakistanis, who had been left stranded in war-torn Iran, continues as 114 more Pakistanis, including 21 students, returned home on the eleventh day on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar, the number of Pakistanis returning home during the last 11 days stood at 1,235.

“The numbers also include 351 students,” he elaborated.

On Wednesday, 24News TV channel reported that the return of Pakistanis stranded in Iran continued on the 10th consecutive day.

DC Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar said that in all 111 Pakistanis, including 15 students, returned home via Gabd-Rimdan border crossing.

“Besides students, there were 48 Pakistani businessmen and eight seamen,” he said, adding that a total of 1,121 Pakistanis, including 330 students, had returned home during the last 10 days.

Ever since the start of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, thousands of Pakistanis, who had been left stuck in the Gulf country, have returned home via different routes.

Soon after the start of the war, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while chairing a meeting, had directed that the safe return of all Pakistanis stranded in Iran should be ensured.

Situation deteriorated in the Gulf after the USA and Israel together launched an attack on Iran in the last days of February, leaving thousands of nationals of other countries, including Pakistan, stuck.

The development prompted the government of Pakistan to take steps for the early return of Pakistanis.
