Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khaturiya officially divorced
Actor Hansika Motwani and businessman Sohael Khaturiya have officially parted ways after a family court in Bandra, Mumbai, granted them a divorce by mutual consent. According to the actor’s lawyer, the separation was amicable, and Hansika did not seek any alimony or financial settlement.
The development was confirmed by Hansika’s lawyer, Adnan Shaikh, who stated that the Hon’ble Family Court in Bandra granted the decree of divorce after both parties acknowledged that their marriage had irretrievably broken down.
“Our client, Hansika Motwani, has been granted a decree of divorce by the Hon’ble Family Court, Bandra. The divorce was granted by mutual consent after both parties recognized that the marriage had irretrievably broken down,” Shaikh said in a statement.
He further explained that Hansika had initially approached her now former husband seeking an amicable separation, which eventually resulted in the court’s decree. The respondent also submitted an affidavit confirming his consent to the dissolution of the marriage.
Clarifying financial matters, Shaikh noted that the actress made no claims for alimony or maintenance. According to him, her intention was simply to end the marriage respectfully and move forward with her life and professional commitments.
Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khaturiya tied the knot on December 4, 2022, in a lavish wedding ceremony at Mundota Fort and Palace in Rajasthan. Their wedding had drawn significant public attention and went viral across social media platforms.
Before the wedding, Khaturiya had proposed to the actress in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower in November 2022, with Hansika sharing the moment on Instagram and captioning it “Now and Forever.”
Rumours about trouble in their marriage began circulating last year when social media users noticed that Hansika had deleted several wedding photos from her Instagram account. However, the actress has not yet publicly commented on the divorce.
