Former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has laid stress on national cohesion and harmony among state organs, 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Jawad Bhili, Shafi Hussain, and Rizwan Mumtaz Ali at his residence, he said attempts are being made to make politics and the army a topic of discussion nowadays. 

The question is whether the army should have a role in politics or not, the seasoned politician said, explaining that in the dictionary, politics is meant for better political, economic, and social conditions.

The ex-PM said the institutions must make decisions by a consensus in case of an emergency in the state

He highlighted the role of the government saying that as far as the duties of the government are concerned, it should take all necessary steps to ensure the security and survival of the country. 

The government should use its constitutional powers to call on the security agencies and forces for help to meet the emergency needs, the PML-Q chief said.

he said if the government fails to deliver in a critical situation, the armed forces of Pakistan and the security agencies will be held responsible for getting the country out of danger.
