Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan Friday left the Islamabad High Court premises after a high drama that involved another call of protests from the former premier, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He was allowed to leave the court premises only after Khan posted a video on Twitter for staging protests for keeping him at IHC by authorities.

The former prime minister left in the Islamabad deputy inspector general’s (security) vehicle along with state security.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has issued a video message on his extended stay at the Islamabad High Court, saying that he was being kept there despite the court granting him bail.

“They’ve kidnapped me and forcefully kept me here. I want to tell the whole nation that it is their bad intention, they want to do something again [and] the whole nation should ready itself” to protest, Imran said.

Imran’s private security had also reached the court premises and a bomb disposal squad has scanned the vehicle in which Imran is supposed to travel, he said.

The capital’s inspector general of police has reached the court and is currently conferring with PTI Chief Imran Khan.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar has said police are demanding that Imran “gives them a video message, in which he should take responsibility for exiting the court in these circumstances”.

He said this is such a “strange” claim that Imran Khan has been granted such major relief.

“Why would our workers shoot now? Today is a happy day [for us].

“Now they are telling us they cannot let him out because of the security situation,” he added.

Firing around IHC

The spokesperson of Islamabad Capital Police confirmed that security in the capital city has been on high alert after an incident of firing on policemen took place near Islamabad High Court on Friday night.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, a heavy police force was dispatched to the spot as there were reports of firing on police at Sector G/9 in Islamabad.

The spokesperson of the Islamabad Capital Police confirmed that there was no casualty in the firing and all the policemen were safe.

The police spokesperson said the search teams are investigating the incident and the police search operation continues in the vicinity of the Islamabad High Court.

The sources said the incident of firing occurred outside the Islamabad High Court at Sri Nagar High Way while Imran Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is still inside the court building and waiting to get a security clearance to reach Zaman Park in Lahore.

On the other hand, Imran Khan has given an ultimatum to the government to clear his route otherwise he will announce his next ‘strategy’.

In response to it, Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah said that law enforcement agencies could take Imran Khan into protective custody.
