Eight tourists who were trapped at Noori Top, a tourist spot, were rescued on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

DPO Mansehra Shafiullah Gandapur said that 22 persons, fearing an Indian attack, were coming to Jhal Khad Naran from Shadra Neelum Valley in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on foot.

“However, when they reached Noori Top, they got stuck due to snowfall and glaciers,” he said, and added, “Due to the joint efforts by the police, the KDA and Rescue 1122, these people were rescued.”

The DPO further said that of 22 persons, 19 had reached Naran.

He informed that one of the persons, however, died on the way to Naran due to extreme cold, snowfall and the lack of oxygen.
