Aysha's ton helps Pakistan women to outclass Zimbabwe in T20 series opener

Pakistan women’s cricket team crushed Zimbabwe women by 153 runs in the opening T20 match at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.

Chasing a daunting target of 238, Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 84 runs in 84 in 18.2 overs as Pakistan completed a dominant all-round performance.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana starred with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Sadia Iqbal and Natalia Pervaiz picked up two wickets each.

The emphatic win marked Pakistan women’s largest margin of victory in T20Is.

Batting first, the Pakistan women’s cricket team posted a record-breaking total, scoring  237 runs in their allotted 20 overs, the highest T20 total in their history.

The total surpassed men's previous best T20 International score of 232, set against England in Nottingham in 2021.

At the National Bank Stadium, opener Ayesha Zafar starred with a brilliant unbeaten century, scoring 102 off 47 balls.

Her innings included 15 fours and two sixes, striking at a remarkable rate of 217.02.

She reached her century in just 47 deliveries, producing one of the fastest hundreds in women’s T20 cricket and laying the foundation for a dominant total.

Opening partner Gull Feroza provided early momentum with 37 runs off 19 balls, while captain Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 21 from 13 deliveries.

Aliya Riaz added further firepower with a blistering 48 off 23 balls, featuring four fours and four sixes.

Pakistan suffered early setbacks as Muneeba Ali fell for 2, while Saira Jabeen and Natalia Parvez scored 5 and 9 runs respectively.

However, Ayesha Zafar anchored the innings and ensured a commanding finish.

For Zimbabwe, Nomvelo Sibanda took two wickets, while Michelle Mwangwa, Kelis Ndlovu, and Precious Marange claimed one wicket each.

Pakistan’s record-breaking total has set a challenging target of 238 for Zimbabwe in the opening match of the series.

Erliar, Pakistan Women won the toss and elected to bat first in the 1st T20I against Zimbabwe Women.

Pakistan enters the T20I series with high momentum after a dominant 3-0 ODI clean sweep against Zimbabwe earlier in the week.
