Brave man lays down life to foil terror attack on KP border in Pakistan

A brave citizen sacrificed his life to prevent a major tragedy near the inter-provincial area of Jand and Khushalgarh Bridge in the border region of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to details, a suspected foreign terrorist was moving through fields near Jand and Khushalgarh Bridge when Liaquat, a resident of Mankoor village in Jand tehsil of Attock District, stopped him and asked about his identity.

The suspect, said to be a suicide bomber, panicked and detonated himself. As a result of the blast, Liaquat embraced martyrdom on the spot, while the attacker was also killed.

Martyr Liaquat was a retired employee of Pakistan Railways.

According to initial reports, the foreign terrorist was attempting to reach a sensitive check post located in the inter-provincial area. However, the bravery of the citizen foiled the plan and prevented major casualties.

Officials said Liaquat acted as a shield in front of the attacker, saving not only the check post but also many precious lives in the surrounding area.

The incident was described as another example of attempts by Khawarij elements, allegedly operating under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban, to target civilians and security personnel. Authorities said security forces, police and the public were standing united against such threats.

Tributes poured in for the martyred citizen, with officials stating that the nation would never forget the sacrifice of Shaheed Liaquat and describing brave citizens like him as an asset to Pakistan.
