Hefty salaries, incentives okayed for officers of Murree Glass Train project

The Punjab government has approved huge salaries and incentives for officers of the Murree Glass Train project, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

According to report, the project director will be given a monthly salary of Rs2.2 million while the chief engineer will get a monthly salary of Rs1.2 million. 

Directors will be given a monthly package of Rs1 million while deputy directors will be given a monthly package of Rs700,000 and assistant directors will be given a monthly package of Rs400,000. 

Officers coming on deputation will also be given huge special allowances.

It has been recommended to give Rs700,000 monthly allowance to project director posted on deputation and Rs500,000 monthly allowance to chief engineer.

It has also been recommended to give Rs350,000 monthly allowance to directors on deputation.

However, Finance Department raised objections on project allowance.

According to documents project allowances were abolished in 2018.

The government introduced the Incentive Allowance Policy in 2019.

Incentive allowance is being given to officers posted in policy units, authorities and various projects.
