Karachi University demands special bailout grant from Sindh govt

Faced with an additional burden of Rs510 million annually due to an increase in house ceiling allowance, the University of Karachi (KU) has requested the Sindh government to provide it immediate financial assistance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

In a letter to the provincial chief secretary (CS), the VC, while expressing concern over the financial crisis the university is going through, has demanded the release of special bailout grant.

He has also demanded the immediate resolution of the university employees’ house allowance issue.

The VC has drawn the CS’s attention to the fact that university is presently under lot of stress due to its administrative and financial condition.
