PM Shehbaz tells authorities to build capacity of law enforcement agencies

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired an important meeting to review the law and order situation in the country and the affairs of the Ministry of Interior, directing authorities to use all available resources to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies for the protection of public life and property.

During the meeting, the prime minister ordered strict implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within law enforcement agencies. He instructed that recruitment in all institutions under the Ministry of Interior, including the Federal Investigation Agency, be carried out purely on merit.

Sharif emphasized the need to equip employees with modern training and professional skills to effectively deal with emerging security challenges. He directed authorities to ensure the provision of the best equipment, modern technology and professional resources to law enforcement agencies.

The meeting was informed that the jail currently under construction in Islamabad would become operational in September this year.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the meeting on the performance of the FIA, Islamabad Police, NCCIA, Federal Constabulary, CDA and other institutions working under the Ministry of Interior, along with future development plans.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, and heads of various law enforcement agencies.
