Woman allegedly gang-raped by six in Gujranwala

Gujranwala police have registered a case against five suspects for allegedly raping a woman in the Mughal Chak area, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday. 

According to the first information report (FIR), the incident occurred when the woman, who works for a private company selling SIM cards, was travelling home on a motorcycle with a male colleague late at night.

The complainant alleged that six men riding on three motorcycles intercepted them near Mughal Chak and forcibly took the pair to nearby fields.

In her statement to police, the woman alleged that five of the suspects sexually assaulted her one after another at gunpoint in front of her colleague, while another suspect stood guard.

Police said a case had been registered against suspects identified as Saifullah, Nabi Ahmed, Abrar Ahmed, Zakallah, Usman and Nazakat Ali on the complaint of the victim.

The Ladhewala Waraich Police Station officials said investigations were underway and efforts were being made to arrest the accused.
