Bowlers rule the roost during T20 World Cup team’s scenario match

Bowlers ruled the day as Pakistan’s Twenty20 World Cup-bound squad begun its preparations with a scenario match at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground Tuesday.

In the earlier part of the day, a 150 runs target was given to the batsmen to achieve in 15 overs. However, the top-order batsmen — including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan — failed to perform well during the practice match.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, Imad Wasim, Hassan Ali, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf gave only 106 runs in 15 runs with their phenomenal bowling as Pakistan’s top batsmen including Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizan failed to click.

In the second half of the day, Pakistan’s middle order was given a target of 102 runs in 12 overs.

However, bowlers consisting Mohammad Hafeez, Usman Qadir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Shahnawaz Dahani only gave away 100 runs in 12 overs.

In the middle order batting, Imad Wasim scored 38 runs and Mohammad Hafeez scored 30.

The Pakistani T20 World Cup squad will depart for Dubai on October 15.
