CJP-led moot to review matter of regularising LHC addl judges
Judges were appointed on May 7, 2021 and also given a six-month extension which is expiring on Nov 6

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) will chair a meeting of the judicial commission today to decide the matter of regularising 13 additional judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The matter of giving, or not giving, extension to the 13 additional judges of the LHC will be also be decided during the meeting of the judicial commission.
It is to be noted here that 13 additional judges of the LHC had been appointed on May 7, 2021, and after the completion of one-year fixed term, they had been given a six-month extension which is expiring on November 6, 2022.
The meeting of the judicial commission will review the matter of regularising Justice Sohail Nasir, Justice Shakeel Ahmed, Justice Safdar Saleem Shahid, Justice Ahmed Nadeem Arshad, Justice Tariq Nadeem, Justice Amjad Rafique, Justice Abid Hussain Chattha, Justice Anwar Hussain, Justice Ali Zia Bajwa, Justice Sultan Tanveer, Justice Raza Qureshi, Justice Shan Gul and Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh.
The judges of Supreme Court including Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah will attend the meeting.
Other members of the judicial commission including LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti and senior most judge of LHC Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan will also attend the meeting.
