PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf set to travel to India

Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, is all set to fly to India to witness the much-awaited Pakistan-India match at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

This decision was made after receiving confirmation about the issuance of visas for Pakistani journalists who will be covering the mega event in India.

Zaka Ashraf stated, “I have postponed my travel to India, and I am traveling tomorrow after receiving confirmation that Pakistan’s journalists have been asked to submit their passports to obtain visas to cover the mega event.”

He also emphasised his role in motivating the team and advised them to continue their fearless performance, which has been a hallmark of their journey in the World Cup so far. He said, “My message to them before the India contest will be to play fearlessly as they have been playing throughout the event.”

The PCB chief also praised the team’s performance and said, “I am extremely pleased with the team’s performance. The PCB management committee and the entire nation stand firmly behind the players for a successful campaign in the ongoing World Cup.”

This development comes after days of uncertainty as the issuance of Indian visas for Pakistani fans and journalists attending the World Cup faced delays. The event commenced on October 5, with Pakistani journalists and cricket enthusiasts eagerly awaiting their visas.

The Indian embassy has now initiated the processing of visas for Pakistani journalists attending the World Cup. They have started reaching out to journalists who are eager to cover the event, directing them to submit their passports promptly.
