Gaza ceasefire deal: 200 US troops land in Israel
A significant development has taken place following the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, as 200 American troops have arrived in Israel, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday
According to the US media, the American troops will not enter Gaza but will assist the forces of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey in coordinating and implementing post-ceasefire stabilisation efforts. Admiral Brad Cooper, the head of US Central Command (CENTCOM), confirmed that no American soldier will set foot in Gaza.
Under the first phase of the Gaza peace plan, Israeli forces have reportedly withdrawn to their designated positions. US Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff also visited Gaza to review the Israeli military’s withdrawal and assess the progress of the ceasefire’s implementation.
This development comes as regional and international mediators, including Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, continue to work jointly to ensure the durability of the truce and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.
