Great Britain crush Pakistan by 5-1 in Sultan of Johor Cup clash

Great Britain handed Pakistan's junior hockey team a crushing 5–1 defeat in their second match of the Sultan of Johor Cup clashtournament on Sunday.

The match, played at the Taman Daya Hockey Stadium in Johor Bahru, saw Great Britain dominate from the start, showcasing superior pace, precision, and tactical control.

Despite Pakistan’s spirited efforts, the British forwards maintained relentless pressure on the defense, converting their chances effectively.

Pakistan managed to score their only goal in the second quarter, offering a brief moment of resistance, but Great Britain soon regained control and extended their lead with a flurry of goals in the later quarters.

The Pakistani defense struggled to contain the opposition’s aggressive attacks, conceding five goals by the end of the match.

This defeat marked Pakistan’s first loss in the tournament, following a promising start in earlier fixtures.

The team will now aim to bounce back as they face their traditional rivals India in their third match on October 14 — a contest expected to draw high anticipation among hockey fans.

Pakistan’s fourth and fifth matches are scheduled against New Zealand on October 15 and Australia on October 17, respectively.
