Pakistan Railways cancels, reroutes several trains on Lahore–Karachi line

Train schedules between Lahore, Karachi, and other major cities have been severely affected due to flood damage along portions of the railway track, Pakistan Railways officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to the revised schedule, the Shah Hussain Express from Lahore to Karachi has been cancelled for the day. 

Passengers of the Shah Hussain Express will be accommodated in the Green Line Express, which will depart for Karachi from Lahore at its scheduled time of 8:50 pm.

The Pak Business Express, originally set to depart for Karachi at 4:30 pm, will leave two hours and forty-five minutes later, at 7:15 pm. The Karachi Express will also face a delay, departing from Lahore at 6:45 pm instead of its regular 6:00 pm schedule.

Several trains have been rerouted through Lahore–Sahiwal due to the affected track sections. These include the Karakoram Express, Pakistan Express, Rehman Baba Express, and Millat Express.

The Millat Express will depart from Faisalabad at 2:00 pm, travelling via Chak Jhumra, Sangla Hill, Lahore, and Sahiwal before reaching Karachi. 

Similarly, trains arriving from Karachi, including the Pakistan Express, Millat Express, and Rehman Baba Express, will also follow alternate routes through Sahiwal and Lahore toward Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Peshawar, respectively.

Pakistan Railways has advised passengers to check updated schedules before travel and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the unavoidable delays due to weather-related track damage.
