Tessori warns Afghanistan, ‘Don’t forget how Pakistan taught India a lesson’

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said Afghanistan should not forget that the Pakistan Army once forced India to take a humiliating defeat.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, giving a reaction to Afghanistan's unprovoked firing on the Pakistan border last night, he said Pakistan’s measured response to recent Afghan actions should serve as a lesson for Kabul.

Tessori said that Pakistan has so far struck only a limited number of targets in response to unprovoked Afghan actions and that those responses are meant to teach Kabul restraint rather than to escalate conflict. He said Pakistan’s strikes were deliberate and proportionate.

The governor invoked past confrontations with India, saying the Pakistan Army had compelled a powerful, nuclear-armed neighbour to “kneel” within six hours, a claim he used to underline Pakistan’s resolve if provoked.

Kamran Tessori warned that if Afghanistan is under any illusion about testing Pakistan’s patience, Islamabad “will break those mountains over the head of the Taliban”, a forceful metaphor he employed to stress that Pakistan would respond decisively to further threats.

He criticised those in Britain, the Soviet Union era, and the United States who, he said, talked about defeating rivals without grasping the realities on the ground, implying that some commentators were disconnected from strategic and military realities.
