The Punjab Government has decided to purchase bulletproof jackets and helmets for raising the safety of policemen at work, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.  

The procurement will be made in the current year with an amount of Rs 700 million. Rs 400 million has been allocated for the purchase of jackets and Rs 300 million is allocated for the helmets.

It is estimated that one bulletproof jacket will cost around Rs 150,000 and one helmet will be purchased within 50,000 to 60,000 rupees.
