Team formed to probe rape-cum-murder of little girl in Swat  

Police in Madyan Swat on Saturday constituted a special team to probe the rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The committee would submit progress reports in the case daily. 

Police said that the investigation would be done in a transparent manner and on merit. 

The team, the Force said, would scrutinize minute details of the case and would investigate the incident from all angles. 

SP Investigation Upper Swat Shaukat Ali was made the committee chairman.   

Police arrest pedophile’s wife 

In another development on Saturday, police arrested wife of the main suspect in the case, Sultan, and registered an FIR against her under sections 109, 200 and 201 of the Pakistan Penal Code.  

Police said Shamim was being interrogated, and all proof were being taken into account. 

The rape and murder of the child fell like a bombshell on the people of Madyan, who took to the streets to vent their anger. 

The protestors, mainly women and children, demanded an end to incidents of child abuse by giving exemplary punishment to the rapists.
