Re-negotiation possibilities remain as Iran-US talks show positive signals: Kh Asif

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said there is still room for re-negotiations as a new round of talks between Iran and the United States is expected to begin soon.

Speaking to the media on Monday, the minister noted that the ongoing diplomatic engagement has so far yielded encouraging signs, with no negative developments reported. “Satisfaction is being expressed after the talks, and only positive things are coming to light,” he said.

Responding to a question about whether Pakistan would take key regional decisions in the future, Khawaja Asif remarked that “decisions are made by Allah Almighty.”

In response to another query regarding India, the defence minister criticised the situation there, stating that “they are jealous and are mourning.”

His remarks come amid renewed diplomatic activity in the region, with expectations building around the outcome of the upcoming Iran-US negotiations.
