Pakistan not to allow to dent its ties with China, says PM Imran

China’s ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong Friday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed the progress made on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects so far besides other matters of mutual interest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on China-Pakistan bilateral relations, CPEC, vaccines and mutual cooperation in other sectors. People to people contacts between the two countries, cooperation in the mining sector and exploration of natural resources also came under discussion at the meeting.
Prime Minister Imran appreciated China for helping Pakistan battle the coronavirus pandemic, particularly by providing the vaccine.
He said both Pakistan and China were iron brothers and time-tested friends and Pakistan would not allow any power to weaken these relations. “CPEC is the best initiative for changing the fortunes of people of the region,” the prime minister said, and expressed the resolve that both the countries would continue to work together for the timely completion of the corridor.
The prime minister reiterated his longstanding stance on the Afghan conflict and said there was no military solution to it.
The Chinese ambassador conveyed cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. He also conveyed felicitations on Pakistan’s Independence Day.
