Pakistan posts 79 more corona deaths, 4,619 infections in a day
Another 79 people breathed their last and 4,619 were infected throughout Pakistan during the last 24 hours (Thursday), showed the figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Friday morning.
As per the NCOC figures, after the addition of 79 new deaths the overall toll has now surged to 24,266 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,089,913 after adding the fresh 4,619 cases.
During the last 24 hours (Thursday), a total of 59,504 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 7.76 percent.

During the last 24 hours (Thursday), as many as 3,937 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 979,411. As of Friday, the total count of active cases in the country was recorded at 86,236.
As many as 407,892 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 369,358 in Punjab, 150,708 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 92,768 in Islamabad, 31,396 in Balochistan, 28,654 in Azad Kashmir and 9,137 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Moreover, 11,307 individuals have lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab so far, 6,355 in Sindh, 4,624 in KP, 827 in Islamabad, 660 in Azad Kashmir, 332 in Balochistan and 161 in Gilgit Baltistan.
