Musadik Malik says Imran must come clean in foreign funding case

August 13, 2022 06:31 PM

Minister of State for Petroleum and PML-N leader Musadik Malik said on Saturday that former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan did not want to be asked about the foreign funding of his party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he claimed that Imran was no more ‘truthful and honest’.

He even claimed that he (Imran) had never shared the letter with anybody, which he had waved before the crowd at the PTI’s rally in Islamabad, saying it had been received from the USA and had warned of serious consequences in case no-trust motion against him was not passed in the National Assembly (NA). “All institutions, especially the ISPR, had categorically denied there was a conspiracy behind the ouster of the PTI government,” he recalled.

Musadik was of the view that Imran and his party wanted to pressurize the country’s establishment by holding public gatherings. “Imran, what are you afraid of if you have done nothing wrong,” he added.

The minister said it was unfortunate that while a court had remanded PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz in police custody for 45 days, only two-day physical remand was given of PTI’s Shehbaz Gill, who, according to her, had incited people against the Pakistan Army.

The minister went on to add that it was strange that while on one hand the PTI chairman said he was the victim of US conspiracy, on the other hand, he kept waiting for President Joe Biden’s phone call.
