Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed grave concern and sorrow over the loss of lives and properties in Balochistan due to recent spell of heavy rains and flashfloods, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The premier demanded an immediate report on the flood-hit areas. It is expected that PM Shehbaz would visit Qila Abdullah which is one of the worst affected areas of the province.

He directed the NDMA, PDMA and Balochistan government to accelerate their relief efforts. He asked them to rescue people stranded in floodwater on priority basis. He also directed them to ensure availability of food items and provision of tent arrangements for the affectees. 

PM Shehbaz also sought report on the washing away of two dykes and estimation of total loss incurred during the recent rainy spell in the province.
