The Afghanistan Cricket Board has appointed Milap Pradeep Kumar Mewada as the new batting coach of the national team, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Mewada has already joined the team ahead of the ODI series against Pakistan. He was with the Afghanistan team on the Bangladesh tour in July. Seeing his work, he has been offered a full-time contract.

Milap Mewada has coaching experience, which can come in handy for the Afghanistan team.

He has served as the head coach of the men’s senior state teams for the Hyderabad Cricket Association, the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association, and the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.

 He played for Baroda and West Zone teams from 1996 to 2005.

There can be a match against Afghanistan and India in the Super-4 of Asia Cup 2023, then Milap Mewada will be seen formulating a strategy against the Indian team.

The Afghanistan national team is currently undergoing a conditioning camp in Sri Lanka as they prepare for the Super Cola Cup three-match ODI series against Pakistan, which is set to begin on August 22 in Hambantota.
