Banks to remain open on Saturday for accepting Hajj applications

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that authorised bank branches across the country will remain open on Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, exclusively to accept Hajj 2026 application forms.

According to a SBP spokesperson, the decision was taken following a formal request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, which sought to make the submission process more accessible for intending pilgrims.

In compliance, 14 designated banks will ensure their selected branches operate on the day to accommodate applicants.

The decision aimed to provide convenience and sufficient time to those intending to perform Hajj in 2026, particularly those unable to visit banks on weekdays.

The spokesperson stated that the central bank expects this measure to ease congestion at bank branches and ensure a smoother, faster application process.

The designated banks are expected to issue lists of their open branches ahead of the date to inform the public.
