UN highlights Pakistan peacekeepers role in CAR

The United Nations peacekeeping mission has posted a picture on twitter of the Pakistani troops helping maintain peace in the Central African Republic (CAR).

Pakistani soldiers taking part in United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic were photographed patrolling the market town of Kaga-Bandoro ahead of elections.

According to the UN tweet, the Pakistani army troops were deployed in Kaga-Bandoro and its surroundings, in order to ensure a secure environment and reassure the population, especially during this pre-election period.

The election campaign in the Central African Republic started on Sunday.
