No tickets announcement made so far, says Ishaq Dar
Former finance minister Ishaq Dar has said ex-PM Nawaz Sharif left his case to Allah and the Almighty has blessed him with success.
“These cases were bogus and fabricated on political grounds,” he said while talking to 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
No announcement of PML-N tickets has been made so far, he said, adding that the meetings of the parliamentary boards will continue for the next ten days to take up the matter.
The former minister said there have been requests to postpone the election and the ECP has to make the final decision.
The PML-N has only one position that the elections should be held on time and this is in the best interest of the nation, he said.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) acquitted Quaid Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference. An IHC divisional bench consisting of Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb pronounced the verdict minutes after it was reserved.
The court also rejected the National Accountability Bureau’s plea to return the case to the trial court and heard the case on merits.
