Four Indian cricketers suspended over corruption allegations during Mushtaq Ali Trophy

A corruption scandal has rocked Indian domestic cricket after the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) suspended four cricketers over serious allegations of corruption during the Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday. 

According to officials, the players were suspended after corruption-related complaints emerged during the domestic T20 competition.

An FIR has also been registered against the accused players.

The suspended cricketers have been identified as Amit Sinha, Eshan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi, and Abhishek Thakri.

The ACA stated that the action was taken after preliminary findings suggested the players’ alleged involvement in corrupt practices during the tournament.

The Mushtaq Ali Trophy was held from November 26 to December 8, and the alleged incidents are reported to have occurred during this period.

Officials said the players will remain suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

Further disciplinary action may follow based on the findings of the inquiry.

The development has once again raised concerns over integrity in Indian domestic cricket.
