Shah Rukh Khan vs Ranbir in Alia’s kitchen: Rungta Steel ad breaks the internet

Bollywood star icons Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have come together, not for a film, but for a high-voltage advertisement that has social media in a frenzy. The unlikely trio has sparked massive chatter online, with many viewers marvelling at the scale and spectacle of the campaign and questioning how much it must have cost.

The new commercial brings the three stars into a playful Bollywood crossover, reviving their much-loved on-screen personas. Shah Rukh Khan reprises his Jawan character Vikram Rathore, complete with salt-and-pepper hair and swagger.

Ranbir Kapoor channels his Brahmastra energy, while Alia Bhatt steps in as Rani from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

The ad promotes Rungta Steels and is directed by Siddharth Anand.

The drama kicks off with Ranbir landing a punch on Shah Rukh, cheekily warning him, “Sar bachaake, Vikram Rathore. Kahin phir se na bhool jaao aap kaun ho (Protect your head, Vikram Rathore. Don’t end up forgetting who you are again).”

Shah Rukh responds with a witty dig at Ranbir’s ‘agni-astra’, setting off a stylised, over-the-top face-off.

Just as the clash escalates, Alia’s Rani intervenes, scolding them for wrecking her kitchen.

The ad ends on a humorous note as both men ask her where they should continue the fight. Staying in character, Rani points them to a sturdy steel pillar—one that won’t break easily.

Online reactions have been swift and hilarious. Reddit users and other social media commentators have praised the ad’s entertainment value, with several claiming it’s more fun than many recent big-screen releases. Others were left stunned by the presumed budget behind such a lavish production.

“Wth is the budget for these ads?” one user commented, while another quipped, “That’s steel money”.

“Alia and RK must have done this ad to get a discount on steel for their naya makaan (new house),” joked one viewer. Another asked, “How much budget they have for these marketing clips.”

“Rungta steel, show me your finances,” read one remark, with another wondering, “Who buys steel rods by looking at these ads.”

One impressed fan wrote, “How in the world is this ad doing a more convincing action bit with srk ranbir than most movies would do. Like the punches and bits feel convincing for the most part till they themselves turn it comical.

Also, both of them are really committing to the bit with punches.” Another added, “Production quality better than movies”.

“When ads are more fun then movies,… can I get a movie with these three? And I don’t mean brahmastra 2, thank you,” read one post, while another summed it up as a “treat of an ad”. Several fans agreed, saying, “The ads featuring this trio keep getting better and better.”

As for what’s next, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in King, directed by Siddharth Anand and backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, with a 2026 release planned.

Alia Bhatt is gearing up for Alpha, an action thriller directed by Shiv Rawail, where she plays a commanding officer in an elite all-women combat unit alongside Sharvari Wagh. She will also star with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming period romance Love & War.
