Orange Line Train to consume Rs88m electricity every month

The 90-hour trial service of Lahore’s Orange Line Metro Train has consumed electricity worth millions of rupees.

The trial-run from Chauburji to Ali Town exhausted electricity worth Rs33 million, though the trial-run from Dera Gujran to Chauburji cost Rs19.2 million electricity. Both the trial-runs used a total of over Rs52 million electricity.

The eight-hour service from Chauburji Park to Ali Town will consume a total of 40 million electricity units.

According to XEN of Iqbal Town, the Orange Line Train will be run on megawatt load and its monthly bill will be Rs88 million.
