Army, Rangers to guard PSL-8 matches
The Federal Cabinet has approved the deployment of Army and Rangers for the security of the 8th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to sources, the federal government gave its go-ahead following circulation of a summary of the Ministry of Interior.
For the security of the matches, Punjab, Sindh governments, and Islamabad administration had requested for the deployment of full-proof security ahead of the mega event.
Even Pakistan Cricket Board had written a letter to the Interior Minister requesting security for the PSL event.
It merits here to mention that that PSL Season-8 matches will be played in Lahore, Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi from February 13 to March 19.
