Independent candidate Chaudhry Adnan shot dead in Rawalpindi

An independent candidate for the Punjab Assembly, Chaudhry Adnan, was shot dead by unknown motorcyclists in Rawalpindi on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


According to the police, the incident took place in the Jhanda Chichi area when Adnan.


He was fired upon by two assailants on a motorcycle and died on the spot.


The police have registered a case and launched an investigation to nab the culprits.


Adnan contested the 2024 elections from the PP-19 constituency as an independent candidate and secured 2972 votes.


He had previously contested the 2018 general election on a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket but lost to a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate.
