Google to pause political ads over risk of US violence

Google said it will temporarily stop running political ads starting Thursday due to the risk of promoting more violence like the deadly attack on the US Capitol building.

The internet giant said it was pausing all political ads along with ads referencing impeachment, President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration or protests in Washington because they could be used "to exploit the event or amplify misleading information."
