After global price hike of crude oil, the petrol price per litre is likely to reach Rs150 from Jan 16 in Pakistan, if the government maintains the sales tax and the Levey on the petroleum products, reported 24NewsHD TV channel quoting sources.
According to the sources, the decision is being taken after the refinery cost has been increased.
As per the expected POL price hike, the price of diesel will increase by Rs5.79 while petrol price per liter will increase by Rs5.27 from Jan 16 and kerosene oil and light diesel will be increased by Rs5.82 per litre.
The Ogra has recommended the above POL price surge but the final decision will be taken by the Finance Ministry.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif also expressed concern over the likely increase in the petroleum products’ (POL) prices in three days from now.
