NEPRA approves Rs4.30 per unit hike in power tariff

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Thursday approved a Rs4.30 per unit increase in the electricity price, thus burdening the consumers with more than Rs41 billion including the general sales tax (GST), reported 24NewsHD TV.
The increase in electricity prices was in line with November’s monthly fuel adjustment.
As per the notification, the additional charges will be made in January bills.
The increase will not apply to electric and lifeline customers, said the notification.
