India rejects visas of Pakistani origin US crickters ahead of T20 world cup

Pakistani-origin players of the United States cricket team have become the latest victims of India-Pakistan ongoing tensions, as the Indian interior ministry denied them visas less than a month before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.

US fast bowler Ali Khan confirmed the rejection of his visa through an Instagram post, bringing the issue into the public spotlight.

Ali Khan, who was born in Attock City in Pakistan’s Punjab province and represents the United States, is among the most experienced bowlers in the American white-ball setup.

The 35-year-old took to Instagram to confirm the rejection, sharing a photo with the caption, “India visa denied but KFC for the win,” bringing the visa issue into the public domain.

Sources revealed that fellow Pakistani-origin US players Ehsan Adil, Sheyan Jahangir, and Mohammad Mohsin were also refused visas by Indian officials.

The United States cricket team has formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the visa denials.

According to sources, the US Cricket Board may refuse to travel to India for the World Cup if the matter remains unresolved, raising serious concerns over the smooth conduct of the global T20 event.

Meanwhile, several other teams — including those from the UAE, Oman, Italy, and Canada also feature players of Pakistani origin, sparking fears of wider complications if visa issues persist.
