Budget carrier Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest airline in the UAE, will start flying to six destinations from October 1, it was announced today.
Tickets can now be booked on the airline’s website and smart app, reported Khaleej Times.
In a post tweeted by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi said it is ready to fly from the Capital to Kutaisi, Odesa, Alexandria, Athens, Larnaca and Yerevan.
It is also set to station its first two aircraft in Abu Dhabi.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is a joint venture between state-owned ADQ and the low-cost European airline Wizz Air. It is the company’s first airline established outside of Europe.
Today’s announcement will add an annual capacity of 350,000 seats to the capital of the UAE, a media release said.
The airline had initially planned to start with three aircraft but it later clarified that it intends to begin operations with six planes in its first six months. It will be flying to destinations across Europe, the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East and Africa.
