Ishaq Dar, Uzbek FM review strategic UAP railway progress
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a telephonic discussion on Sunday to review the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) Railway Project, as confirmed by the Foreign Office.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, both leaders assessed the progress on the Framework Agreement for the multi-nation railway initiative that aims to connect Central Asia with South Asia through Afghanistan, creating a vital regional trade corridor.
They also agreed to reconvene on the sidelines of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Tianjin, China, to further advance bilateral and regional cooperation.
