LESCO consumers may miss out on Rs3bn subsidy this month
The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) may not receive the Rs3 billion subsidy from the federal government for electricity bills this month, putting potential relief for millions of consumers at risk, 24NewsHD TV reported Sunday.
According to LESCO sources, the delay in subsidy approval from the Ministry of Power Division means the bills for many consumers—especially badges 1 and 2—are being printed without the expected relief.
The subsidy case, usually submitted by the 6th of every month, will now be resubmitted on Monday. If not approved in time, printed bills will go without the subsidy, leaving many consumers to bear the full charges.
LESCO awaits the Ministry’s green signal to adjust the upcoming bills accordingly.
