Rihanna returns to LA after father's funeral in Barbados
Rihanna was seen arriving back in Los Angeles, visibly emotional and holding a bouquet, following the funeral of her father, Ronald Fenty, in Barbados earlier this week.
The 37-year-old pop icon, who is currently expecting her third child, kept a low profile after the long flight, dressed in a beige hoodie and black cargo jeans.
Her long dark hair was styled in braids, and she wore dark sunglasses and a diamond necklace for the sombre arrival.
Fenty, 70, died on May 30 in Los Angeles following a battle with pancreatic cancer and complications, including acute respiratory failure and aspiration pneumonia. He was laid to rest Tuesday in their homeland of Barbados, with a celebration of life held at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, which can hold up to 5,000 people.
Rather than wearing black, Rihanna honoured Bajan funeral customs by attending the service in a long white dress.
Despite their complicated relationship, a source close to the singer revealed to DailyMail.com that her father's passing has deeply affected her. “Robyn has had a very difficult relationship with her father over the years, but his death has hit her like a ton of bricks,” the insider shared.
Ronald shared Rihanna with his ex-wife Monica Braithwaite, along with sons Rajad and Rorrey. He also had three other children — Kandy, Samantha, and Jamie — from previous relationships.
The Umbrella hitmaker, who has not yet publicly addressed her father's passing, was accompanied by a family member or assistant carrying her belongings as she exited the airport.
Before travelling to Barbados, Rihanna had been on a working vacation with A$AP Rocky and their children.
