Judicial Commission panel completes interviews for additional judges at high courts

A committee of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan has completed interviews of candidates seeking appointment as additional judges in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and the Balochistan High Court (BHC).

According to official sources, the interviews were conducted at the Supreme Court by the committee headed by Constitutional Bench Judge Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi.

The committee interviewed seven candidates for appointment as additional judges of the Islamabad High Court. It also completed interviews of 20 candidates for additional judges in the Balochistan High Court.

Following the completion of the interview process, the committee will submit its report to the Judicial Commission of Pakistan for further consideration.

The committee consists of Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Aalia Neelum and Justice Sarfaraz Dogar. Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan, Senator Farooq H. Naik, Senator Ali Zafar and Ahsan Bhoon are also members of the committee.

The Judicial Commission will consider the committee's recommendations before making decisions on the appointments in accordance with the constitutional procedure.
