PM Shehbaz returns home after holding condolence meeting with emir of Qatar

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returned home on Monday after concluding a visit to Qatar, where he met Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and offered his condolences on the passing of the former Emir of Qatar.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed deep sorrow over the loss and conveyed sympathies on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to the Qatari leadership and nation.

The prime minister paid tribute to the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, praising his wise leadership and significant contributions to the development of Qatar and to promoting peace and stability in the region.

"I stand with the leadership and people of Qatar in this hour of grief," Shehbaz Sharif said, adding that the late leader's services for regional peace and cooperation would always be remembered.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also participated in the meeting with the Emir of Qatar.

Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani thanked the Pakistani delegation for visiting Qatar to express condolences, describing their presence as a reflection of the deep-rooted and brotherly ties between the two countries.

The visit reaffirmed the close and longstanding relations between Pakistan and Qatar, with both sides underscoring the importance of mutual solidarity during times of sorrow.
