England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) look set to do all it can in order to make sure that they host West Indies and Pakistan without any further issue. The series have already been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic but the ECB has remarkably managed to chalk out a plan for both the series.
They will host West Indies next month for a three-match Test series. The series was initially scheduled in June. All the matches will be played in empty stadiums and at bio-secure venues.

On the other hand, Pakistan will play Tests and T20Is in England in August and September. They are scheduled to play three Tests and as many T20Is. Pakistan were set to travel to England in July. However, the date has been pushed back after the scheduled training camp in Lahore was cancelled due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.

Pakistan are now reportedly set to leave for England earlier than expected and will travel in a chartered plane provided by the ECB. According to Cricket Pakistan, the ECB’s chartered plane will take off from Pakistan between June 26 and 29. This extra time will help Pakistan prepare for the series in a better way.

Reports further suggest that Pakistan’s tour of England is worth around £70m and £75m to the ECB in broadcast revenue, which is why the £500,000 for chartered flight is a manageable expense.

Meanwhile, the PCB has already announced the squad of 29 players who will be touring England for the Tests and T20Is. On their arrival in England, the players will remain in quarantine for a two-week period in Birmingham. After that, the team will move to Manchester for the first Test on August 5. The second and third Tests will be played at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton. The T20I series will start from August 28.
