NAB seeks cancellation of Maryam’s bail from LHC
Two-member LHC bench to take up NAB plea on March 15
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore on Saturday filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC), seeking cancellation of the bail of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the petition submitted to the LHC by the NAB prosecutor general, it has been stated that the PML-N vice-president, despite being on bail, is not cooperating with the Bureau teams which wanted to question her in connection with Chaudhry Sugar Mills’ and other references, and in view of this fact, her bail be cancelled.
A two-member LHC bench, led by Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfaraz Dogar, will conduct the hearing on March 15 after 12:00 noon. The other judge on the bench is Justice Asjad Javed Gharaal.
On Friday, Maryam Nawaz declared that Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) candidate, had won the election for the seat of Senate chairman. In a tweet, she said, “Congratulations to Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on his success in the election.”
