Sindh Education Minister and PPP leader Saeed Ghani on Saturday demanded the arrest of Senate secretary for committing a ‘dacoity’ on People’s Party’s votes during Senate elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a news conference in Karachi, Saeed Ghani said the ruling of Presiding Officer Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah rejecting Opposition’s votes during Senate elections showed his bad intent.
“Secretary Senate was involved in the rejection of the Opposition’s votes, he should be removed from his post immediately and put in jail,” Ghani said and added, “One member stamped on the name of the candidate and later told Sherry Rehman who immediately contacted the Senate secretary and told him about the stamping but he said stamping on the name is alright.”
He said the Senate secretary should also disclose who installed the spy cameras in the Senate hall.
“I do not know of a person who stamped twice on the ballot paper,” he said.
He alleged that Muzaffar Hussain Shah got something else other than the phone call because such obedience would have not been possible without any reason.
“We will not be silent on the broad daylight robbery on Senate chairmanship and will put up a tough legal and political fight,” Saeed Ghani said.
It may be mentioned here that Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah belonged to Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) and senator on a general seat from Sindh and his tenure is from March 2018 to March 2024.
